Contradicting information, according to your past threads this tank is less then a month old and has had ammonia and ick problems.

Have the ammonia problems been taken care off? Probably not, and this is irritating the arowana causing the odd behavior

the ick problem was taken care of and its older then a month old. i must of put the wrong time up. but the amonia and no3 is still off. idk why. i even put in amonia remover for media. but still the no3 is at 40ppm which i know is okay but its border line between 40 and 80. the nh3 nh 4 is 1.0 ppm.

Arowana do this motion with their mouth ...also sometimes curl their body inward as if practicing to attack something...perfectly normal behavior... and my advice would be to not to offer the frozen mouse etc and other strange foods that he would not eat..stick with the pellets.. are they the same brand the previous owner gave him..? and also try shrimp and frozen silversides but beyond trying here and there ...give him time.. they can easily go a month with out eating.. he needs time to settle in.. and make sure u weigh down the top ..they are jumpers ..

thats whay he does. he curls his body and does the mouth thing. ive had many arowanas before and he is the first that does it. any suggestions on the nh3/nh4 and no3. how to get them normal.

How long has the tank been set up?
What is the current stock?
What type filters do you have?
What method did you use to cycle your tank?

This info would be helpful in finding what needs to be done with you tank. It sounds to me like your tank is not properly/completely cycled, you need to be doing enough W/Cs to keep the ammonia and/or nitrite levels under .25ppm so it is safe for your fish.

Bderick67 is right, 8 days is nothing, My 2 big silvers took exactly 2 weeks to start eating normal. I tried everything on the menu. Diced beef heart from the supermarket is what finally did the trick.
