2x55g would work as long as they are connected so where they share water. Otherwise since all pumps don't function exactly the same, you could dry one up or overflow the other. I would definitely DIY.

Or I could get a 125g and DIY it. So what would be my options wiyh out a sump and no canister's is there any options?

Thanks benz. Just getting ready for my P bass and Dovii.

ive tried that with a 1000 liter tank with 3 big eheims, you just have to clean m every 2 weeks then its fine, and do a good poop scoop every 2 days thats how i did it, but now in my new tank ive got a sump thats about 700 litres with 4200l/h to pump it up, is that enough? the new tank is about 2500 litres

without a sump and no canisters? Umm... FB filters.. They are purely bio though, really no mechanical. You could do all sponge filters, but I think that's a little bit rediculous in a 240g. You could do an overhead wet/dry tower. There are a couple of other things, but imo nothing is going to work better than a well designed sump.

Danh, I fully understand I have one on my 150g And will for sure be getting one on my final tank. But i really wanted this tank to split my 2nd living room and the dinning room on four marble pedestals. I will then make the rest of the base and the top. I want it to sit in limbo on these pedestals ( well thats the way it will look but of course I am going to build a secure base that really sit's on the ped's but the tank will really sit in a solid base with no major mess all about on the floor. So this sump tower what is that about? That sounds like it may be worthy of a eye shot to see if it will work. And you got a remember when I got my house built this was all I wanted to do. At the time I moved in I had an old 55g with a FloHor. And another empty 55g. So I knew them when I seen the finished product exactly what I wanted to do.

Update....
Just moved it in yesterday! 374 pounds of glass. It took four of us and it wasn't that heavy. I even had to hold it by myself for a couple of minutes getting it through the door. Here are a couple of pics with water in it and a the future inhabitants.>>>>
