Man its nice to see a fellow Virginian MFK.

So what do you plan on putting in the sucker once its up and running?

I plan on putting native fish in the tank. I plan on putting sunfish, and such in the tank. I am also tossing around the idea of using live plants, but am still unsure.

Well I finished the stand frame today finally :headbang2
I will be moving it in to the basement and getting the tank set and level in the morning. I need to get started on my plumbing design and finish my lighting and filtration plans. I hope to spend Wed. washing rock and putting it in the tank. Hope to get some water in there to.

The stand is made of 2X8 legs and supports. The middle supports are screwed into joist hangers for added protection and load distribution. I also used 2X4 in the middle as an addded support. The tank will set on a 3/4" hard wood ply and a 1/2" blue foam board. The stand is abour 34" high and 98" x 28" long and wide

This is the stand design that I have on my 75G tank....I used all 2x4 though. The stand is more than adequet for the weight. No issues and it has been setup for about 9 months.

Awesome! If your gonna go native, plants look really nice with them. You might have some co2 issues with the wet dry sump though. You want tank buster natives, or not? Bluegill, shellcrackers, green sunfish can be found aplenty in virginia, but can be a little agressive. There are pumpinseeds, longear sunfish, redbreasted sunfish, and some other smaller sunfish available in the area that are less agressive. I would also recomend a crayfish for cleanup, or maybe 2-3 for you size tank. Check out www.nanfa.org, all about native fishkeeping. I've got three bluegill, a channel cat, a bullhead of some sort and a crayfish in my 55, never really see the cats, but the bluegill are very entertaining. After they get bigger they are going in a freinds pond, unless I finish my 450 gallon build.
