So cool! Good job with the wood I really like it. I will likely have a tank just like that if they pass HR699 Natives only :( He might get along with a bullhead catfish you tried that?

HR669 has been scuppered. It may show up again in another form in the future, but this bill is dead. There was a hearing on the bill the 23rd, and given the 50,000 letters they received in about three weeks about the bill, they decided to kill it. The chick congresswoman from Guam will probably push for this again, but the other congressmen have seen the will of the AMERICAN people who actually live in AMERICA, and quashed it at the hearing.

FYI forthose interested in the wood, here is the basic how to:
1. Collect drift wood....long and straight
2. Clean wood....I sand blasted it
3. I used a piece of eggcrate type material only with much smaller holes....Sorry no pics.
4. Attach drift wood to material with screws. (The small holes hold the screw and draw the wodd down nice and tight.
5. Put in tank and cover with rock for weight.

Hope this helps.....sorry no pics of that setup.

Well as we all know in this hobby after we set something up, we then discover a better way to do it......same here :swear: so I tore down my sump and made some changes.

First I decide since I have a 2 inlet sump (Inlet chambers on both ends) I would use both. I had both drains in one and it worked fine, but I decided to run one to each end to reduce clutter of one coming all the way across under the tank. It also reduced flow to each side so I was able to add another filter pad to each side. The only down side is now only one side gets to go to the bio filtration...so I added my old bio wheels to the onther chamber till I can get some bio balls for it. I also added a new type of fitting to use my main pump as a drain pump also. All I have to do is roll out my little hose and open a valve to drain. I also though I would go fancy and add some gauges for pressure indication. For now one is at the pump outlet and one is just before the water enters the bulkhead at the tank top. :headbang2:headbang2:headbang2 This gave me a nice pro look now.

I alos took this time to pick up some new bulbs...lowes had a sale on T-12 40W 6500K bulbs 10 for 19.99....I picked up a few boxes.
This is the old 4100K bulb..it gave more of a yellow tint

This is the new 6500K ...this gave a more blue tint without going reef look blue. I really like the tint as it makes the tank stand out alot more and colors are more vibrant IMO. I did not notice much diffrence in brightness though. I cant wait to build the canopy and get al the lights going.

I also added my skin.....AKA cloth around the stand....looks good and still easy to get in and out :headbang2

On a sad note my pleco died he was about 7" he decided to try and go down the stand pipe:cry::( now they are coverd with screen. A sad mistake on my part not doing it earlier. I just though he was to big.
