240litre tank, predator ideas?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
It's 240 litres and I'm pretty sure it's 4ft long and around 18 inches deep sorry I haven't got a tape measure handy, looking for a single fish or a couple, with black sandy substrate, JbL e1500 filter and limited decor, cheers for the info people, keep the suggestions coming, I'm liking the idea of a single flower horn and obviously an arapaima is a no go as I would need a lake for one lol

Any more ideas people?? Fairly new to the predator scene other than snakeheads and such, I don't want to make any mistakes

if u put in a powerhead id suggest a pack of scombs with maybe 2 red tail cudas. scombs will be bottom to mid dwellers while cudas will be top water. scombs will stay small and r very slow growing. same with red tail cudas. and scombs are awesome to watch feed. will do a sweeping attack from under feeders and spear them with their 2 huge fangs. definitly my top choice for a smaller tank. also an idea is going brackish which isnt much work at all and having archers which again are awesome to watch eat. either shooting a jet of water at bugs or like mine do leap 6" out of the water and take them right from your fingers. do u like stuff with teeth? or just mean fish like flowerhorns?

Many snakehead species will fit.
Do you want fast moving preds, or lurking preds?
There are many fish that would work. Channa, puffers, piranhas, leopard ctenopoma, nandus nandus, knife fish, amazon leaf fish, catfish, etc.
There are probably more options than you'd think.
