Poly resin is also stronger (from what I understand) you may want to glass or "mesh tape" the corners with cheaper/ stronger poly resin to work all your bugs out before you start working with the epoxy.

I firmly believe polyester gets an undue bad reputation around here but I have never heard that polyester is stronger than epoxy. In fact one always hears (reads) the opposite.

But with that said, I have no argument against doing all of the fiberglass reinforcement with polyester and then switching to epoxy.

I wasn't sure about it being stronger. I thought I had read that somewhere. Either way its a good safe cheaper baselayer/ filler before the epoxy for sure
