You so didn't bother reading the thread. If you had you would have seen that we are building a 300.

I read it....just didnt catch that part. Congrats on your new build! The fish and you will love it. ANd congrats again on saving your ornate.

I'm excited about the build. Haven't been thrilled about keeping them in the 90 this long though. When the 180 cracked it was suppose to be a short term arrangement but then when family and friends had so many house fires this year we became a storage space and have limited room to work. Grandma got moved and another friend is about to finish rebuilding so it shouldn't be long now before we can get back into that room and get it done. I'm really looking forward to it.

The first two images are current. The third image is what my water quality normally looks like. (The first two are clouded.) And before anyone starts in on me about how close my hand is to the top of the tank please note that I bent my arm at the elbow as I currently can't lift my arms at the shoulders.

um, many thinks wrong with this.. pacus get bigger then the tank itself, same with the red tail catfish, and the bichir can get up to 30 inches...... what are you running for filters? your boyfriend is going to have to do daily water changes tell you can either rehome all of them or find a tank bigger then 180, infact, actually the redtail/pacu needs a POND.. the bichir can go in a 180 min.... i would sell/get rid of the pacu/redtail catfish, work on getting a big tank for the bichir......

First off I'm not getting rid of my babies. Second the 180 was only suppose to be in use till the 300 was built and the six ponds I have planned and purchased could be installed but it cracked. We have had 9 house fires among our family and friends since June. In an effort to help everyone with storing what they were able to salvage from their homes I dismantled my fish room of it's 36 tanks and turned it into a storage space. I have a grand total of 10 fish left when I had 500. I know that the 90 is not an ideal long term situation but they all get along just fine. There is no aggression against each other, but the rtc does like to nip at fingers. The water quality is fine and would be fine for more than a couple weeks if I ever decided to let it go that long without a water change, which I don't. It gets a change every 7-9 days depending what my schedule is. I'm running an xp4 and a large uv filter. Not to mention that they aren't messy eaters in the slightest since they are fed with forceps daily.

that tank should be getting water changes ever day to every OTHER day at most... sorry to seem mean but that tank is waaay overstocked, yes plans fall through, best thing you can do right now is rehome the fish if you cant built/buy a tank big enough for all those fish...... sorry, this may seem harsh but i feel bad for the fish..

That's absolutely hilarious because my water tests just fine and my friend, who is a marine biologist, says that they are doing just fine and that using this tank as a temporary home is suitable unless they start showing signs of aggression toward each other.

To the op: I hope you feel better soon and can function fully again.

To the people saying the tank is too small, I'm pretty sure they've heard that before. Of course it is small, but imo, unless someone wants to buy the person a larger tank, it is enough to say it once and let the person recover in peace. Besides, the person had 36 tanks and the largest ornate many have seen. I think they've proven they can take care of their fish.
