2600 gallon 'pool' pond

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
There is a slight slope but whats weird is on the "higher side" is also where the pool leans down a little. Meaning not all the extra sag is on the lower side.

Let me try to explain the sag some more. It came with a white-ish blue floor. The walls are solid blue. About 60 percent of the lower side has pressed some of the blue wall to the ground. On the high side about 20 percent has the blue wall pushed to the ground. The rest is about right.

Overall about 50 percent of the pool has some portion of the wall on the ground.

It's a strange shape to begin with, the outer box shows it almost like a kettle shape

Update:

I put 12 goldfish and 12 Rosy reds in the pond. I did some digging from my other shut down tank. I put a few rocks and driftwood in..

I'll try to get a picture or two tomorrow but everything is so small in there(including the 24 fish).

This pic was taken a few weeks ago(still blue-ish in color). I found some driftwood and some rocks from an old tank.

Since the last update I did buy 2 3-4inch Koi, 1 died within hours(Must not has adjusted right). Replaced him the next day. However since then I haven't seen 2 of the Koi at the same time so I don't know if one died again. Only about every other day do I see one just for about 2 seconds (Can't tell which one but does appear to be the first one).

I have found 2 dead goldfish and 1 dead rosey red since I put them in. Just awhile ago I put some food in a saw a huge school (can't be more then 21) of them.

The water is starting to turn green already.

I have picked up a free critter. Seems a frog has found him a new home. He runs(jumps) as soon as I go outside. It's small at about 1inch (curled).

I also added a small fountain pump that runs 24/7

just wait until those koi get some size on them. They'll be out all the time.

How are you filtering this?

Sorry, no catfish. At least not until the goldfish and koi get bigger so they are not dinner

Right now, I'm using a Diatom(sp) filter (catches all particles) and a simple pump fountain( it has a sponge like filter).

These are just to get it going (another reason why no catfish). I do want to upgrade to a better filter down the road

It sounds like you're on the right track, and you live in a warm climate... there are endless possibilities!
