Really cool setup, I plan to do this someday. Question though, how do you plan to control humidity and mold in that enclosed room? Logic tells me even with those vents, you may still have some issues.

I would think the water would be cleaner, unless the dehumidifieris putting off heavy metal

Like the idea of using a dehumidifier, don't like the idea of dumping its collected water in your tank: http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/archive/index.php/t-441056.html

I can imagine you will need one since the tank is where it is now but I personally wouldn't use the water for anything more than maybe watering some house plants.

Wonder if having a reverse osmosis would make it safe for use...

150lbs of white pool filter sand and ~70lbs of various river rock from large to small sizes
