28-30" fire eel beat up my 20" tigrinus!!

I have had them together for 2-3 years. The Fire eel will every 6 months to a year decide he hates the tig and will bite him a few times and chase him around.. Nothing big. Last night it was on!!! The eel would not stop biting and chasing him.. I was worried to come home to my prized tig dead.. I got the eel moved after soaking the house trying to get him out of the tank... THe tig should recover and one day maybe they can co-exist again.

kinda weird as eels are not known to do this type of thing.

I have had the eel from back in the day... He is old and an o.g...lol

I will never get rid of him.

Last night I tried to break it up by chasing the eel with the net. I had to think about how to get him out, I was afraid though that would come home today with a dead tig.. Glad he was not much worse once I got home.

That Tig is a survivor for real! Those are two of my Fav. fish man, glad there were no casualtis!
