Prized tig indeed :). Yeah, I'm sure he'll heal in no time. What do you feed that monster tig? And just out of curiosity...did he have straight lines or an oddball pattern as a juvenile?

He has eaten mostly HIKARI pellets. He will eat anything. He has been like this since i got him.

He has always had straight lines.

I wanna see pictures of that eel... screw the wimpy tig :D

seriously... picks of teh big boss of the tank?

i will try to dig some up

Anyone surprised that an eel almost 3 ft, even a spiny eel, could inflict such damage has obviously never been bitten by one. Ouch! We don't have scales like the catfish does either.

Catfish have scales? News to me. ;)

I am sure you just meant tough skin or something along those lines.

No, I am not ashamed enough to admit it slipped my mind about the scales. :DToo busy looking at someones megalodoras catfish earlier today and forget that not all catfish are so armored.

Still, though, they have pretty rubbery tough skin compared to us.

Wow! I am shocked that your tig made it, I have heard they are stresed they typically do not do well, I am really glad yours is pulling through, he has such a great pattern! hopefully he won't have much scarring from this ... but even if he does whats a few scars to show he is a survivor!

Your eel Sounds Like a true monster! I have thought about raising a fire eel up and putting him in my big tank when its set up but not sure if there would be a conflict with my oscars... my oscars are common ( albino tiger, common red ) and was not expensive at all but I would not get rid of them for anything .

Dude... I would have made that eel turn into 4 eels... "Chop Chop Chop"

Glad it is not worst

How about a full tank shot :)

what is your stock consist of my friend??? But not sure if he will be compatable???? it seems like everyone are afraid of putting a FE in with oscars why is that??? thanks--

I have never seen my eels behave like that, but my oldest's personality had started to change just before he jumped out and died. Seems almost as though they reach sexual maturity and start almost going through heat. Hope the tig recovers well, and glad to see you aren't holding it against your eel. Love those guys SO much.
