280 -300 gal stocking ideas

Try peacock Bass. And flagtail prochilodus. They are good for that size of tank and you can find some that won’t outgrow it as badly as ID shark.

Look in the advanced aquarium under chiclids for chichlas and you can find all sorts of great info on sizes and how to train on pellets.

Also wouldn’t chance polys with rays. Either big rays eat polys or polys chew on rays etc.

or a jardini arowana
I just picked up a jar and plan to keep it in a similar sized tank as yours with a group of lower jaw polys.

That said if i were starting a large tank from scratch i would consider one of the larger puffer species. They seem like allot of fun.

Hmmmmmmm... medium sized ones that can co-habit in a tank would be C.Asellus or T.schoutedeni, only problem is they would be good for a species only tank...

So while it would be an amazing sight to see a 300G filled with schoutedeni, that would also be very a expensive tank setup due to their cost...

Then the problem with C.Asellus is they may require teeth trimming at some stage, so a 300G filled with them may not be the most fun when that time comes either...

Haha. Everyone line up with your favourite snails, clams and inverts please. It’s a tooth trimming puffer party baby.

are jardini arowana really aggressive ?
I'll tag you to a thread i started on jars/lei.

All great questions but just a little advice always follow up a question regarding agression with... how long have you had "x" fish or how big is "x" fish.

You may get answers to the aggression question that dont tell the full story. Fish change as they mature.
