Beautiful Sunny Walterboro SC
I just wanted to know what a 280 gallon acrylic aquarium would go for used. I am thinking on buying one I saw on craigslist for 250$. It came from a miami subs store that closed. It hhas a 40 gallon acrylic sump and dual overflow boxes on each end. The ends are 1 inch thick and the rest is 3/4 inch thick. would this be a good buy or not?

No stand, pump, or hood. only bio balls, sump, and massive over flows.

thanks for the input in advance

well i got it today. like always i let my wife do the talking and was able to knock off 50 bucks. So, 200 bucks got me a decent tank. Moving a 10 foot tank is not the nicest of tasks in 90 plus degrees.

I do want to reseal this baby to avoid any problems later. I want to put it in a wall eventually. I've got time so i want to do it right. How would i go about taking it apart. Or is there a better way to reseal this baby?

id on't think you want to try to take it apart if it's acrylic. i've heard that the acrylic is chemically bonded when they put them together. did you have them fill it up and check for leaks? 10ft is nice dimensions is it 10x2x2? maybe someone else with more acrylic fabrication could chime in with their advice..good buy tho..

well its 10x1.5x2.5. I definately know the top braces will need to be resealed. I don't know to go about the rest. Maybe the rest can just be touched up. First time with acrylic excuse my newbie self.

I'll post some pictures when i get a chance. I did notic some hazyness on the side panels, can that be buffed out?
