29 gallon wet pet cichlid ideas

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Wow, the colours on that Cichlid is fantastic! Quite beautiful
Thanks! When I first got him he was a little bit darker and had a really nice blue shimmer. It’s still slightly there but I hope I can really get that blue back when I add a little bit darker substrate to the tank.

Con Solo enjoying some of his breakfast. I found he definitely likes the Omega one pellets over the Northfin. Seeing him becoming more comfortable makes me so happy. Definitely gonna have to mix in that darker substrate to darken him up a little and the extra fake plants during my next water change.
I like the colours on this little guy. Not sure what species, but looks like a Convict with a reduced pattern. Can't wait to see him reach his full colour potential.

Thank you. 100% I agree that a 55 is not ideal. Carpintis is around 4 inches currently. I would never let the fish grow to be uncomfortable and a 75 will definitely be happening in the future. How are the convicts in terms of personality? Are they as personable and curious as my Carpintis is?
I agree with Deadeye Deadeye . Puffers are a great choice, something like an avocado puffer of a pig nose puffer would be really cool. If you want something that’s colorful and curious then I’d suggest a firemouth cichlid or a rainbow cichlid.

I’ll be honest I tried to add those pothos vines a few times but I couldn’t find a way where it looked natural to me. As for Con Solo he’s doing amazing, I couldn’t be more satisfied. He’s a pretty outgoing fish, he comes to the front of the glass when you’re there. He’s in a pretty high traffic area right outside my room and also in view of our family room in the basement. I never knew how much cons move the substrate, every few days the tank looks completely different. I just like to let him do his thing, I’ll only interfere when he starts to uncover the base of the fake plants. It’s kinda fun to see him rearranging to be honest.
