29G....single fish..

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I haven't kept a female JD in a 29 but I have kept a male. He is my oldest fish, 3+ years old and maybe a tad less than 8" SL. He was kept in a 20L then a 29, always as the showfish, leader of the tank. His body shape was however deformed once he got 6" and over and now has a bit of a hunch but is otherwise healthy. I believe he was deformed due to the tank width, because of this I don't recommend a JD be kept in a 29 or even a 55. I think they need a wider tank than 12". He is now kept in a 75 with a bunch of goldfish and a pleco, he never harms any of them.

No prob Twhittle. I apologize...didn't know you were so sensitive

I bet you look like Popeye from all those water changes

Now back to the thread:
If this person does decide on a fish that size and to do all of those frequent water changes, I suggest getting a python. Saves me a TON of work and a lot of folks here use them too. No more buckets!!

I'll put a stamp on that!

why don't you just make it a bait tank? Put some guppies in there have them breed and feed them to what ever else you have.
