I don’t think a bush fish would work they get bigger than people think IMO a 40g min is required. They also have deceptively large mouthed and a full grown one would have no problem taking down a lamp eye tetra at 3” my Ctenopoma was stealing and eating whole smelt meant for my bichirs

What about smaller gymnogeophagus?

Any Gymnogeophagus I kept hit at least 5", some larger, but its not just about size.
Their are territorial requirements to be considered

Probably. Neither are particularly aggressive.

I plan on putting a couple small chunks of mopani wood abs some more live plants but here’s how the tank looks. (Picture taken yesterday).

Also the reason I put the sushi bar in is because I had it in with my first bb cat a while ago before I joined mfk and that bb cat absolutely loved it so it felt right to add it for these cats to enjoy and to bring me memories of my old bb cat. He died from ich that was so bad that he looked like a white chunk and I never noticed until it was too late because he always hid underneath the sushi bar.

Just ordered 6 stone cats and a couple blind cave tetras to get on Monday and next Monday that I’m excited for. But I’m gonna have to get a dimmer light or something for the cave tetras and also in general so the catfish are a bit more active
