I def agree wit you as well. New rap is nothing really but club music. Which is fine but sometimes I get tired of hearing about money, hoes, and wat u got. Spit some real ****. Music will never be wat it used to be IMO, and that goes for all genres, cuz I listen to everything but country. I miss alot of the artists I grew up on....Pac, Big, Big L, Big Pun, Lost boyz, Nas, Old Jay z, AZ, Old Outkast, DMX, and plenty more.....like I said I know music has to evolve and all, jus never thought it would evolve and downgrade.....smdh......

i deff agree with u...pac was a writer and a poet from the west coast, biggy was more of the top of the head freestyeler from ny ,2 totaly diff styles that mad hip hop very successfull so in my eyes the both are on the same level to me ...... im still stuck on, the 80s 90s rap and hip hop..hip hop 2day is more like hip pop no meaning or they dont make sense ....i dont even know most of the new artists names besides the ones that really use there flow over the beat not the beat over the flow....

LOL....I agree....Waka flocka and Souljah Boy.....WTF......they are talkin about nothing....the only reason they get plays is cuz the beats they have are tough.....no lyrics, delivery, style or anything....SMDH.........

Great points to bring up....and I agree wit you on some of them. The only reason Pac even signed wit Death Row was cuz they bailed him out. He realized that it was a big mistake and yes it did change his image somewhat. But at the end of the day even he was still jus a human being, capable of making mistakes. Big's delivery was better but Pac like I said reached a much greater portion of people. No matter color, race, or creed people connected with him on a greater level than they did with Big. And all that school of the arts, and etc. type things is what made Pac slightly better. Thats wat you call a deadly combination, when you have not only STREET SMARTS, but BOOK SMARTS as well......THAS SOMETHING SERIOUS.....not tryna argue jus stating facts.....

Pac did reach the masses. As for him signing with Death Row a few other labels offered to bail him out including Mavrick which at the time was owned by his homegirl Madonna. Pac signed with Death Row because at the time Jimmy Ivine was pouring money into the label. Remeber these cats had endoresment deals .... how many rappers had endorsement deals before that. Maybe Run Dmc with adidas but that's it. These cats had malt liqour and blunt deals in the mid 90's.

I just couldn't ever adjust to Pac the gang banging blood for MOB. Then he gets in the middle of the east coast/west coast beef which single handley ruined hip hop. You mention Pac's smart but at the end of the day you have to question that.

1. He was always talking about being about his $$$ but let Suge and David Kenner jerk him for millions. He spoke about the traps of the industry but he didn't even own his masters.
2. He was the major player in the East Coast/West Coast beef but was loved on both sides and dissed rappers like Nas, De la Soul and others that didn't have nothing to do with his Biggie Beef.

With that said Pac is still on of the G.O.A.T.S for songs like Against All Odds (He explains why he got shot that night outside of Puffs studio) and of course dear mamma. Like Chris Rock once said how come the wack rappers can't die!!!!

Ahh the great Biggie vs 2pac convo has finally ended up on a fish forum. Let's me first start off with letting you know I'm a born and bred Kalifornia kid and my vote goes for Big. Lyrically Pac was not on Big's level, delivery wise Pac didn't come close. Pac basiclly has the same delivery every song and is 90% of the time evading enemies or rhyiming about something to do with Hennesy. Big never really got to grow as an artist due to his death so we only have 2 volumes of work to judge him on and they are both classics.

2pac was truely a different breed all together and this is why I have to knock him. His background in thearte, being rasied by black panthers and his exposure to their everyday struggle should of made him better then Big. Instead we get songs like What's Your Phone Number, How do you want it, Thug Passion and etc. Pac before Deathrow had so much promise then Pac he signed to deathrow and was trash. Promoting the lifestye that he was rasied to speak against. It wasn't until his murder that his best stuff got leaked.

It's sad that both these cats lost their lifes because of Suge's ego .. yeah i said it!!!

Both will be missed but at least HIP HOP still has Nas.

Wow wow wow... Hold up. You mean to tell me Pacs good stuff came out after his death, are you serious!!:screwy: obviously that's why Biggie is over PAC Lol.

I agree w/everyone that they were on different levels. Biggie was cool n I bumped some stuff... Pac, from All eyes on me n down were almost all hits! His music moved people in so many ways, I remember 2 things from Pac's music when growing up... 1) hearing Dear Mamma and later hugging my mom just out of no where (I come from a No Love family... Litteraly!). 2) Listening to Hit'em Up w/my headphones on n got jumped pretty bad cause I thought I was Superman (now I Lol about it).

Pacs music was DEEP as Biggie rapped about flawsing n Drugs (sometimes a story about beef).

Sorry but hands down... Pac, Pac then Biggie

Great comeback.....I cn only say this. Pac was at the end of the day human and its hard to know wat was proposed to him on the table and promised to him. Whos to say me or you would not take wat was offered to him. One thing I do know is once he seen the light he exposed alot of those things and pissed alot people off. Why he came off at the fugees, nas, or etc I dont know. But im sure it was for a particular reason. You make very good, clear, and valid points. Im not tryna take anything away from Big jus stating Tupac was on another level in the aspect as in the amount of people he reached and who felt him was greater than Big. There will always be underlying facts u and I or no one for that fact will know. Both were great......and this argument is never ending because both are so GREAT and cant be replaced.....so its like we dont even have anyone to compare them to. Ur more of a Big fan, and Im more of a Pac fan, but at the end of the day, we are both saddened cuz they are both gone.....SMH.......

they both are good in my opinion. both have good meaningful lyrics based on their life and what they gone thru. but i like pac better because he just sounds better...maybe cuz its his deep voice. and some of his songs and lyrics gives me chills down my spine, which to me is consider REAL music and when i know its good. nowadays days rap and hip hop is so mainstream that it isnt even truely music anymore but all about sex, girls moneys and what not. thats why i dont listen to mainstream musics anymore. also I LOVE bone thugs, best rap crew in my opinion.
