they were caught in the tampa which is brackish but they can easily be converted fresh or full marine, they are in brackish right (close to full marine tho) now salinity is 1.018

I have heard that some unscrupulous sellers switch them to fresh from salt and they live long enough to sell and then typically go down hill rapidly. I always ask how long brackish water/marine species have been at a give SG. sometimes months pass before something drops dead from stress to the system from handling what it wasnt used and may not be able to for the long term.

Sad to think that people would sacrifice a fish for money...

well these were caught in the tampa bay and are currently in water from the tampa bay so for all i can say they have been brakish ll there lives
