You can do whatever you want, stuff as many large, beautiful cichlids as you want into a 29 just to stunt and kill them very prematurely. Obviously you do not care at all about these fish. Real fishkeepers care about the health and welfare of their fish, both because it is in the fish's best interest, and also because they want to have a large, colorful, beautiful adult fish in great shape to show off. Your fish will never grow into large, colorful monsters in a 29G, period.
Sadly, it looks like you will never get to the point of being able to show off a beautiful adult fish you have worked hard to raise, all you will have to show are juvies that have not developed any color or markings yet, because they will never make it to adult size in great condition. I mean, why bother keeping fish if you are just going to keep little juvies and never get to see them grow out to their full potential and be able to wow people with them? What is the point, really?
Clearly, with an intelligence and attitude like you have, you are the one who is lucky to be alive my friend, let me guess, you don't have a job and still live off mommy & daddy, right? Fishkeeping is an expensive hobby especially if you are into keeping large cichlids, I don't know how old you are (I'm guessing 12), but I am 25 years old and still a full-time graduate student (no parental support though), and I LOVE big cichlids, but I have a 29G with dwarf cichlids (rams) and other small fish, because on a student income, I realize I cannot afford to keep those big cichlids I love so much right now. Luckily, I have the maturity and intelligence to have PATIENCE and am content to watch my smaller, but still beautiful, healthy and happy cichlids, until I graduate and (hopefully) get a good job where I can afford to properly house some of the cichlids I love. It is honestly disgusting to me how ridiculously impulsive and impatient people can be, that they KNOW they cannot afford anything bigger than a 29G, but still get numerous fish that would need 75G to themselves as adults minimum??!! Grow up!

Yeah, this thread is almost a year old.

So, how many fish are left and how big are they?

The poster just wants to get a rise out of people, which he's obviously getting.

Wow, my bad, totally didn't notice it was a year-old thread bumped by the op for no reason, if I did I wouldn't have fed the troll.

I like them in there, and there is nothing you can do about it, my red devil will stay in there a lot longer, i have no sympathy for fish, they are fish. They are lucky to be alive, unless you guys want to get me a new tank, be my guest, until then i will keep the fish i want in my tank and you can do nothing about it, and if the red devil gets stunted, oh well, she looks fine to me.

hypocrisy is so great.

I feel for those fish, in a matter of months they will suffer from disease and horrible stress due to overcrowed conditions stunting then certain death.
