Drain the tank before you do anything. And by saying you are going to use longer 2x4's, something is missing in that description as to why it would help.

ya I am unsure of how you are going to use the longer 2x4 because you will need to shim the lower end to bring it up to level, but in doing that you will need to support the whole stand not just one end...

A friend of mine, who used to work at a pet store in their fish department told me not to change any water out for a few weeks and to let it cycle. He said water changes would only add to the problem. He also recommend for me to add Cycle. Is this good advice?

Could be me, but my water is always level, its the tank you have to worry about.

I had the same problem with my 300gal. The left end of the tank was lower than the right end of the tank. Only by about 1", but it was noticable to me. Front to back it was perfectly level. I had the tank set up like that for over a year, and only tore it down because I was moving. As long as its not twisted or obviously bowed, I wouldn't mess with it. Unless of course it is just bugging you or will give you peace of mind, then by all means do.

You can buy shims at Lowes/Home Depot. They work great. Buy a couple of levels as well, the 3' ones work best! Really no need to level the tank, as long as you have the stand leveled properly, there is nothing else you can do.

Yeah just drain it level it and put a thin styrofoam in between the tank and stand.

Syrofoam will do nothing to level a tank.

My tank is level side to side but off front to back. I got scared of twisitng after reading this thread, measued and took level readings form like 10 spots in the tank.
