I bought a 300 Gallon tank. Water Tested it tonight. After an hour I heard a huge explosion. It had literally busted by the seams. Luckily it was in my garage. It hit my car left a dent. Broke my 55 gallon that was behind it. Got everything in my garage soaked, and left glass scattered everywhere. I would say thousand dollars or more of damage.... The guy I bought it from said it was in great condition and had been up for 4 years prior to him taking it down 2 months ago...I'm at a loss of what to do now...Thank God My pregnant wife or I were not standing near it.

That's a lot of water!!!!!

It would of been cool if you had the time warp people video it!

that sucks

pics of the aftermath?

I was so pissed at the time that I didn't even think about it...I instantly started trying to get thing off the ground, open the garage, and pick up the glass.... I will have a few pictures tomorrow of whats left... I can't believe I spent money on this thing.

I filled up it several times 1/4 at a time, never had any prob's. Had many ppl to tell me make a brace, attempted to twice. Called around to a few aquarium makers. Only one told me to make a brace. The others told me 15mm is plenty thick and that's just how old tank's are. Just like on here...some people told me to brace it , other's said 15mm is plenty. I had the ultimate plan of bracing it, but wanted to know if there was any leaks up top before I wasted the money on bracing it.. I did put this in the lesson's learned thread ...

well i guess you can delete "300 gallon- still setting up" out of you sig.

did you give the guy who sold it to ya a good ear-full? i can say this much that he would have a little bit less hearing capability if it were me!
