Set up is looking great, thanks for sharing the steps to the set up!

More details on the filter set up please. It looks like you are using a piece of Matala filter media as a HMF with the FX4 intake behind it? Also appears you made a spray bar?
You got it more or less pluming for the filter is under the tank and the Jebao return pump is for flow and it runs pluming in the rim of the top of the tank. The filter pad on the side there is to hide pluming and I plan on growing moss there as well.

The fx4 has a bunch of purigen and carbon in it for the tannins I plan on adding a fx6 or bigger for real filtration

I figured you two would enjoy this thread.

Wow, where did you get the massive driftwood from?
That is correct!!! Thanks so much.

reptilerancher reptilerancher This is very close to what I was planning with my 300gal before I had to get rid of it. Looks great.
Is the tank going to be viewable from 2 sides or it has a front? I have found that spray bars dissipate flow more than just an open outlet.

I have all but stopped using spray bars. They are great in giving the tank that rippled stream surface effect when paired with good LED lights.

It is viewable by 3 sides the filter intake on the left is the only side you can't see it from. I've been playing with the flow a bit (and will continue to do so for years probably lol) and I may go with an open return but as I add fish I will change it around to get them to swim in more or less the same detection like you would see in a wild stream. I will probably add more pumps as this tank goes on to get the desired affect.

Tank is full and some fish added 15 southern red belly dace 5 Tessellated darters and a common log perch. Here are some pictures of the room it's a little messy still working on the place. My alligator gar tank is the blue monster in the corner. The snapping turtle tank is a 300 gallon stock tank with a 150 sump and it will probably be sunfish I put in with him.

Personally I wouldn't add fish in with the snapper unless they are ment as food. Lol them snappers will eat almost anything that swims infront of their face.

They would be long lived feeders. he is pretty lazy for a snapper though so he will normally let them live until he is board of his pellets and frozen thawed food which is like a year or more in some lucky fish cases. I had a Jack Dempsey in his tank when he was only 8 pounds ( he is 27 now) and it lived there with him till I took it out and gave it to a friend 4 years later! I will say he dose eat fish from time to time and I would never recommend keeping "pet" fish with any reptile.

Awesome! Ever thought about keeping a freshwater drum?
Not in any tank for the little fish. I may keep them when I get a more permanent and larger tank (10,000 plus) for my gar it would be cool to have them with some big catfish and my alligator gar but until then I have no plans on getting more monsters until the end tank is built. I have enough to worry about with a 3 foot gar lol
