What gave me pause on the plumbing was the appearance of hard drain pipes dropping into the sump sock holes. It was late and I was tired so I'm sure I could have been more tactful about bringing it up. Just really wanted to make sure you have options if an emergency happens.

Are you referring to the pipes ebeting the socks ? They arent glued in place just pressed in.

Heres the heater layout. One in the front one inthe back. The probe is on the back wall of the sump near the fillter sock and the cheapo thermostate is on the from wall.

Somwthing isnt right though. Yesterday i had it set to 80 but 78 was my inteneded temp. When i lowered the ranco to 78 the heater turned off...good right. Bit it never got to 80. Today when i disconnected everything to fix some of the plumbing the temp dropped a bit. It hasnt hit 78 yet seems stuck on 77. Any ideas ?

In the photo the heaters are clearly running. When you say it never hit 80, you imply it got to 79 and never reached 80? It sounds like the heaters are undersized, how much wattage are you using, 600w?

Are/were your heaters running when your ranco showed 77?
Yes.

2 x 300 watts.

Does that differential settong have anything to do with it. I just set it to 79 amd the differential on 1. Would that keep it at 78 ?

I'd imagine the heaters are more than sufficient for the task... The glass heaters should still be set somewhere above 80. It should go up to 78, and kick off. Could touching the acrylic mess with temp readings here?

Weird thing is if i lower the temp on the ranco i hear the switch close the circuits and the heaters go off so it apears as everything is working. Its still 77 and the heaters are on and set to 84

Yeah the relay should click every time it goes on or off. Theoretically the water should heat to 84F if receptacle were to fail and read under temp. I'd set it to 78 and see where it ends up with a second thermometer. What's the sump sitting at now, from the other thermometer.

Thx man. Sorry i didnt get to test out the 2 gates. Had i stuck to my original plan we would have been able to test both methods but adding the two inch bulkhead and not choosing its placement correctly kind of killed that idea.

I would imagine it would still be fine going either way. I thought there would be more tinkering regarding the water level in the overflow but the system is soo quiet it really hasnt mattered much. Still way early to tell though
No problem at all man. You gotta do what works best for your system. Overall it looks pretty good. Glad you did rip the right drain apart to fix the uneven level. Hopefully that doesnt cause you anymore problems in the future. But thats aweso,e that its super quiet right now
