Mayne i should get the dct 15000. I wanna be able to run these pumps on the lower end of the spectrum.

I too don't like to run my DC pumps for return and CLS at full throttle. Mainly because I dont have the need at this time for my filtration and circulation, respectively. Another added benefit is knowing i have more headroom and not pushing the pumps.

Are there other reasons you want to run ~43% at the third setting?

Im going with 1.5 inch drains maybe the 15000 would be a little to much since your on setting 1. Thanks man

Lol nope no reasons other than its on the lower end of the spectrum.

If I had this pump I would target my output around the middle instead of lower spectrum. @ less middle u have either side of the spectrum if things doesn't go as planned. Just my 2 cent thought.

Guys is ther any reason why i couldnt run a small canister or hob off my sump ? Filled with just purigen ?

I have a DC pump running on our 265 gallon Marineland Reef Ready and it is pegged right in the middle of the dial on flow. It is a Waveline 10000II.

I would see any reason not running a canister off the sump for other chemical use. I made one section of my sump so water travels in a narrower section so I can put chemical media like carbon, crush coral, and etc... keep it simple like everyone here says...

My sump is gonna be empty no baffles or anything just sock holders and media. Was thinking the canister can sit right next to the sump.
