i moved a glass 300 with three guys. just have to be smart, use your brain not your muscles to move it.

i estimate my glass 300 to be 350lbs or more.

my 7' 210 weighed about 400lbs. 2 strong men can do it, me and a friend loaded it ourselves with a short distance. But 4 unloaded it and it was so much easier.

1/2" glass weight right about 6.75lbs per sq/ft

Lets assume a 300 measurements are 8ft x 2.5ft x 2ft

1 pane - 8x2.5=20sq/ft * 6.75 = 135lbs
2 panes - 8x2=16sq/ft = 2(16)*6.75 = 216lbs
2 panes - 2x2.5=5sq/ft = 2(5) * 6.75 = 67.5lb

135+216+67.5=418.5lbs (excluding any euro bracing)

Though if you have the 8'x2'x2.5" then you would need 2 panes at 8x2.5 and only one at 8x2 so

108+270+67.5=445.5lbs:grinno:

Trust me, I sold my 300 glass last month and it took 4 guys to move a short distant without stairs. Spent some money and hire 2 more people and save your back. Once your back goes, life will never be the same again.

The 300 gallon is a lot heavier then the 125 gallon. I handle my 135 gallon by myself but I hired a mover when I purchased the 300 glass.

I have a glasscages 300g and it took 4 guys to get it out of the truck and onto the ground and 5-6 guys to get it up onto a 37" tall stand
Good luck moving it with 3

i moved my 300 onto a 4 foot stand this past weekend. Only took 4 small guys, we are asian.

basically what we did is,

1.have the tank resting on a dolly.
2. stand the tank upright.
3. rest one end on the stand.
4. left the other end onto the stand.

it was an easy job, and we did very little lifting.

i have 1,yes two men can lift it, i own a longbed truck, place stand in first and tank on top,use tiedowns. not as heavy as you may think(plexiglass) if it glass....goodluck
