Some more what?

Ok. Glass is ordered. Should be here Tuesday. 70" x 29" x 0.5"

Now I just have to find somewhere to move the damn 55 gallon thats sitting on top of the 300 stand. DOOHHH

One step forward and 3 steps back.

Ok. So the plan from the start for this tank is for an Arowana. Silver or Black. Heavily favoring the black.

But I'm debating more and more on what else I want to keep in there with the Aro that it wont eat.

I could buy adult fish which is more costly.

I could grow fish out in the tank itself to non bite sizes before I get the Aro but that pushes my dream fish father away.

Or I could grow out companions in one of my other tanks which isn't really ideal as I have 2-55's both of which have community set ups with smaller fish in them.

I'm really like the Tiger shovelnoses the more I look at them. It would grow fast enough to not be a snack. Also considering Pacu's as they grow fast as well giving room.

Thoughts?

very cool very cool!! how much does a project like this cost f i may ask??

i could be wrong but a tiger shovel nose might out grow the tank. as the get 4ft long and dont have the ability to flex like a RTC. But i guess you could always give it a try

Now that I look the Tigrinus is probably the better choice.

I wasn't too familiar with them and assumed that tiger shovelnose was the common name for the several variates I've seen. Further research revels my error.

Tigrinus are pretty awesome. A bit more expensive and a little less hardy by my experience with my brother's Tig but they sure are purty. Also if I am not mistaken they don't get quite as big as the tiger shovel nose if you are worried about it outgrowing the tank.
