is there water in it yet?

Not yet. I want to let it cure a bit. Just checked it though and it's dry and full strength. So if school gets canceled tomorrow from all this snow then I'll be doing a part fill tomorrow to test my glass seal.

Otherwise Wednesday at the earliest.

So it's Wednesday.... That means WATER!

Actually I put water in it last night. About 6 inches or so to come up above the bottom glass seal so I can keep an eye on it without 300 gallons to worry about. Not a drip of water anywhere. I rubbed down all the edges and could find no voids in the rubber at all. I think it's good to go but will have to wait till after thanksgiving to get filled the rest of the way.

The yellow rubber duck is the water level. (on the right side)

I cut and drilled 2 pieces of 1.5" PVC for my overflow drain and water discharge pipe. They are currently black from a fresh coat of Krylon fusion satin black.

Currently have 150 gallons in the tank and letting it sit a while longer. Can't fill it all the way as the two bulkheads for the sump are open at the moment and I have no pump to complete my sump at the moment. Thinking about rigging up a 2500GPH pool filter I have at the moment to get this bad boy running.

Been slowly filling the tank in 50 gallon increments over the last 2 days. Until tada....

I also tossed in the 60 pounds of whitish sand I had left so it didn't look like a black hole when I take pics.

Had one hell of a scare though. I filled the tank enough to test my overflow pipe that runs down to the sump. My sump isn't done yet so I put a cheap wal-mart tub to catch the water. It worked fine. I started draining the tank down below the overflow levels and while it was draining I took the dog out for about 5 mins. I went into the shop under my apartment to check on something and found water dripping from the ceiling. *cue the panic*

Turns out my cheap ass tub had a crack in it and leaked about 2 gallons into my carpet which seeped though the pad and dripped downstairs. The bright side is. The tank isn't leaking and since the floor under my apartment is NOT insulated or sheet rocked. I was able to find the leak quickly and there will be no major water damage from it.

Gald to know nothing major went wrong.

Your telling me. Tank is dry as can be. Just have to double check the floor for water damage. Had heaters and fans drying it out all night.

Congrats Eric! That has to be a good feeling to finally be full. I finally filled my 300g last night too so I know how you feel. Glad it was just the tub..

Woo. I think your tank will be up and running first. My pump should be in this week. Sump is curing as we speak. Gonna go over it again with the rubber in case I scratched the rubber too hard anywhere with the sharp acrylic edges.

Found one tiny drip. But luckily its in one of the threaded joints on my water return line for the pump system. So just gotta unthread it and use some Teflon tape to seal it up. It probably not screwed on tight enough but there is only 5-6" behind the tank and it weighs 3000 pounds so I can't exactly scoot it around.
