Hi Muni,
I've been following this build and it looks great!
This is my first post and I thought I should chime in here and now because I've read through everything twice and I just noticed something that anyone who's built large plywood tanks should have spotted much earlier in the process...
Your "box building" is wrong for a plywood tank this size.
The front and back should "sandwich" the base as opposed to resting on top of it as an all glass tank would be built.
When the plywood is resting on top of the base, it doesn't take much pressure to split the ply of the front or back panel at the bottom when it's filled.
Please take this into consideration before you complete the tank.

I'm recently back into the hobby after about a 5 year layoff and I've built a couple of plywood 300's(96"LX24"WX30"H) and a few 225's(72"LX24"WX30"H) using 3/4" plywood, epoxy paint and 1/2" plexi for the 300's & 3/8" plexi for the 225's(yes, you can get silicone to work with plexi...there's just a little more involved than roughing up the plexi so the silicone will bond to it).

The first 225 I built was a complete disaster because I built it on the same format as most tanks i.e., front, back and sides resting on the base...
The water pressure was too much for the "ply's" at the base.

To make a long story short, it's MUCH stronger with the front and back panels sandwiching the base and the side panels being the only parts resting on the base.

Please reconsider and, if not, please tell me where I'm wrong.
Best reguards and best of luck.
I'll continue to watch closely and hope you prove me wrong.

Just looked again at the earlier pics...
Great looking design on the top braces but, they should be on the inside of the box as opposed to on top.
Please take heed...I know I'm a noob here but, I speak from experience, disasterous experience once.
Best reguards

Kinda late now i guess.

I'm gonna go to my room and cry now.

could you put some ply strip around the bottom and top glue it screw it trim it out probly look good if done right

sounds like a great idea to me.. just make sure you dont hit the old screws in the bottom...

Its an interesting point he made and i'll keep it in mind the next go around. But at this point there isn't much I can do.

The sheer strength of all the screws should be more then sufficient to hold the weight.
