What shrimp should I get for a planted 30gal colony? My ideas of shrimp are crystal red, yellow, bumble bee(black n white), or snowball. Any ideas? I will probly trade some to the lfs for credit too! Anyone got advice? I want active ones to watch too!

Reply's please?

A 30g would be awesome, i have a 10g planted tank with a bunch of cherry shrimp. Super active buggers that breed like crazy. Started with 12, now have about 80-100 lol. I went to my local lfs to sell 2 dozen and got $48 in store credit.....IT definatley is a low maintence tank that helps support my hobby!

Ok, I will have black sand so which of the shrimp I listed rlly stick out?

crystal reds would look real nice on black sand

I agree with the Red Cherry Shrimp I have a colony and they are very active, and I also sell mine to the LFS to support my hobby,I have black substrate and attached a couple of pic to show you, and the darker your sand the better the color which they will stand out a lot more..One thing is they really need a planted tank at least to breed that is.First pic is of a berried (pregnant) female...

Hmmm now its between cherries, crystal red, bumble bee, and yellows...

If you have experience with shrimp, then I wouldn't recommend getting red cherries. What plants do you have in that tank? I would personally a higher grade crystal red if I could get my hands on some.

I have a 32G Waterhome, I set it up 6 days ago and I think it's about cycled. Both ammonia hit 0 about 3 days ago and nitrite has went down to 0 today. I'm going to eventually get some crystal reds and do some selective breeding.

What all do I need to selective breed? I think imma go with crystal red

crystal reds seem like theyld be more expensive so once u get the tank going and if they breed seems like u can sell them bak and get some tank support money
