33 gallon stock ideas

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Yeah the rams seem more available around here then apistos. What kind of lighting would i need to grow some of the easier plants? i wouldnt mind trying it out

+1 on the shell dwellers!!!

i like shell dwellers, but me and my friend are having a competition to see who sets up the better tank. he has a 72 bowfront with africans and i got my 75 CA tank and hopefully a planted SA tank. Only beacause he wants a planted tank. Thanks for the suggestion

Okay sounds good. I gotta wait till this weekend to pick up some new bulbs. What kind of plants would look good. and do i need anything special or will they grow with just the lighting? I think ill get it planted and add some corries first to kind of get the tank going a little more before i add the rams. Also which rams would be hardier, i cant remember if its the german or bolivian rams.

Interesting thread. I also have a 33 that has been doing nothing, as I have not been able to decide what to put in it. I don't want to do rams because, been there, done that. I am torn between a rainbow cichlid pair or maybe going the shellie route.

Good luck with your choices!

Yeah, i like shellies but i just rather do something a little different. Ive seen a lot of planted tanks on here and i been wanting a nice setup for my room. Good luck on your choice as well

I hear ya, man. As much as I am thinking about shellies, I remain torn about it. If you ask me today, I really am considering trying a pair of rainbow cichlids and maybe a small group of praecox rainbows or something similar. But as I remain indecisive about this, I am clearly not married to this plan.

At any rate, good luck, man. I guess I'm still looking for inspiration before I go and jump into getting anything to go in the tank. Won't hijack your thread any further, but hope to see some pics as things come together for you!
