Octagon design = more seams to leak or bust

I didn't want to come across as a debbie downer, but this was the first thing I thought when I saw the pic...."man, look at all those seams."

Plus the fact that it's been resealed...was it a leaker and had to be resealed, or was it just resealed because the tank was so old?

I say go for the 350 acrylic; I've never been a fan of odd shaped tanks like this one...IMO, there are so many more potential points of failure.

I personally don't like glass tanks over 55G; I trust an acrylic weld over silicone any day.

Do you know the width at the narrower center section?

24-30" and they are measuring each section for me.

And as for the reseal it was only done because he was advised to do it because it was used. I'm betting this was his lfs wanting him to give them money to do it. All they did was the inside anyways and not take the panels apart.

I think my godzilla aka red tail giant guarami will like the 350 and full 36" most.

Unless you have a specific place for that tank I wouldn't waste the time with it. Oddball footprint limits the stock options. Tank is heavy and awkward to move, plus the design of the tank makes for a higher chance of failure for leaks. Sometimes what may seam a good deal turns bad when all considerations are looked at.

I've got a 550g bowfront here locally for a grand, heck of a deal for the volume but it just wont work with what I got so I'm passing on it.
