Is there a cichlid I could keep in a 35 gal. Its going to be my first time to set up a cichlid tank and I like the idea of having a stunning main fish with other 2-3" dither fish. But if it wont fit then I'll get just smaller cichlids. I dont want a tank with only one fish. Ive been keeping flowerhorns (started the hobby) and they get boring being in a tank all alone when fully grown. I was thinking a red severum but I've read thatthey grow big. Is that right? Any suggestions? I wont be setting the tank yet. Just wanted to get some ideas. Thanks!

Sevs are a little large, you could do a couple of dwarf cichlid pairs. Or some cons or Honduran red points. Most cichlids won't tolerate much in a 30 g even small ones so a pair is all you can do really with some dithers like danios or barbs.

Too bad. Okay thanks! Any suggestions? What fish do you like? The more colorful the better. and not so aggressive. Im tired of all the aggression haha. I already have a predator tank. :)

I've googled a cichlid aimly for a planted tank which is colorful and not aggressive, I forgot what it is but it's priced as 300 or so, I forgot about it cause I did it last week. Just search it up in the link. welcome btw.:welcome:

I have no problem with the price. Im going to cartimar this weekend to get blacksand and wood for my predator tank. Will check out some fish too then.

Have you gone to Las Farolas? Its near tiendesitas and they have tons of good fish and fish products for sale. :D

not haven't yet. but because of your suggestion maybe this week or next week I'll go pay a visit. BTW where will you get your black sand? I know in a stall in cartimar which is decent seller of black sand, for the wood, I don't know, I just pick up some wood over our place and let it cure. The mark of that stall is that it's in a narrow way which has a terrarium with a good DIY drip system and only sell Flower Horns for fish. 25P For a bag, Well he said it was 2kilo but as I've got it it's like 1.75 only. lol
