350 gallon stocking

I'd just hate to see an 8' long tank going to Orange head Geos lol. The bigger fish tend to hold more personality. What about getting a Big Pair or Mota's or Trimac's, Even some pikes. Dovi and Umbee are going to be a tank exclusive setup. Some of the other species in a 350 you could try your luck at other co existing, just given the space you have.

I kindof caught that lol. My only concern with geo's is that I've heard they are slow growers, which shy's me away from them a little unless I get some larger ones to start with 4"+.

So let's say I want:

7-10 geophagus red head or brasiliensis
1 - Adonis pleco (already in tank buy can remove if needed)
1 - pineapple Pleco

What are other suggestions?

Sounds like your leaning toward a SA community. You could combine geos, sevs and true parrots along with tetras, cories & your plecos. That would look great in a 350.

I also like the uaru idea - really unique fish. I'm getting interested in pikes here lately. Not sure of the name, but the ones that are deep red look awesome!

The geophagus are going to take 6-9 months to mature and breed. Not sure on how long to get to a large size. Nothing is going to grow as fast as the big brutes, so if how fast a fish grows is one of your interest, the big brutes would be the way to go.

But like decoy said, you can still have some decent sized fish in there even with Geophagus. Just not the boring large predators lol:ROFL:.

Good start. I'd look to add some Severum and Guianacara, and some Chalceus for the top half.

This is where im leaning minus the true parrot because I know they can actually be quite aggressive.

I like the geophagus winemilleri also...guess it's a matter of between the three and two of the three I've picked get close to 12" and I'm getting them 3"+
