Nebbi, tank is in the basement (i.e., sitiing on foundation), so no possibility of going through floor.
ecajoe, with dedicated pump in tank , water changes are very easy. Cleaning inside of acrylic and stirring up gravel is also very easy. The only think that's tricky is touching the bottom of tank; I can't do that unless I slide canopy off a bit because tank is so tall. But I've had a number of monster tanks, including my last one which was bigger (500g) but only 24" high. This one is by far my favorite because of its 36" height. I can basically look a fish eye to eye when standing in front of the tank.
And when I'm sitting on the coach in front of the tank, I can look up to the surface which gives you a cool "underwater" feel.
Of course, tall tanks cost more $$, so it's a tade off. GBG
