So there are two gold gars around not the only one in the world. Good chance there could be more waiting to be caught.
there are more than 20 of them around as far as I know but none is spotted gar.

I wonder how this scientist determined that it was a spotted. Only sure fire way would be dna testing. Which isn't that cheap. Seller should be able to provide some sort of proof for this in that case to back up their claim.

That is what I said. With DNA testing results 10k. No test results 5k. Though from LA it would leave short nose and spotted for choices. When your talking that kinda money you damn well better have back up to your claims.

DNA test should cost less than $100(I've seen $50), it just none of the xantic gars we know is spotted gar.
