360 in wall and filter room

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I've been worried about humidity and moisture problems with sump. I'm thinking of going reverse flow under gravel filter and a big sand filter (hooked up to house drain for backwash).
Keep a 55 gallon drum filled with water, and once a week
turn valve,
backwash sand filter,
fill with the 55 gallons waiting,
and repeat each week...
Maintenance would be minimal.
Basically a closed system, so less humidity issues.
What's everyone think???

Make sure you use some kind of auto drip system with an overflow.. that will make your life 10x easier.. and almost maintenance free. What kind of stock are you planning to keep?
Going to do larger Malawi haps.

Got some plumbing done:image.jpeg
There are 2 1" drains going over the top and two drains out of the overflows. The drains out of the overflows are a 1 1/2" and a 1" tied together with a "T". So 4 drain lines all with valves.
The returns are 1 1/2" and reduce to 1" going down. image.jpeg
They go down to a spray bar at the top of tank on the right side, and an under gravel jet system on the left side image.jpeg

dang nice!!!!

I ran some dedicated outlets for heaters and pump this weekend. Also got pump and filter plumbed in. image.jpeg
