i plan on having 2, 2" bulkheads in the top back corners of the tank that will drain to a sump. and than another 2, 1" bulkheads in the bottom of the tank buried in the gravel, they will run down and meet in a single line and than to a canister filter that will help with keeping my gravel poop free. good question to ask before i cut my holes... will the two 2" bulkheads i plan to use in the back wall be able to keep up with a 1200 gph flow??? also .. what do you guys think of the big 1000 watt titanium heaters v.s. a couple 250 or 300 watt heaters?? is there an advantage to have a titanium heater other than only having to house one unit?? thanks for input

I have always been a fan over 2 small devices over a single large device. I like 2 small heaters instead of a single large heater, 2 smaller pumps over a single large pump. These things always fail at some point, if you have 2 smaller ones running you will still have heat going to the tank should 1 of the heaters fail.

Agreed^^ This is the philosophy I always go by as well. Some heat is better then no heat. Some filtration is better than no filtration!v Tank is going to be awesome!

Nice job on the pond armor.. What did you use to apply it?

thanks !! i had to cut the pond armor with denatured alcohol quite a bit because it was really thick, even thicker than Devoe, which i did not think was possible. lol anyway for any epoxy paint i use 6" foam rollers and 1" and 3" chipping brushes. the foam rollers do get eaten away at by the chemical reaction occuring in the paint and they tend to fall apart a bit, but nothing spreads epoxy paints like a foam roller, just gotta buy a few extra. i actually sanded down that first layer of pond armor today because i am going to do two more coats. i have decided to go with a black interior so i ordered 1.5 gallons of black pond armor this afternoon. i cant wait to get into the plumbing and filtration, it is going to be epic !! thats all i can say. i am going to post some more pics in the morning. stay tuned

i agree with your logic, also what do you think about titanium heaters? i have never had one before and dont know much about them. heaters are going to be in the 2 sumps so there are no worries about shattered heaters, just wondering if titanium heaters hold any certain advantage over traditional glass ones. thanks
