Did you ever think that maybe...jusssstttt maybe.. She doesn't care to have any of these jobs you speak of?
I just might cry knowing that I will never get my dream job on Wall St.

What jobs have I spoke off? Wall St? Did I even mention Wall St?

I just mentioned one sort of specific, my pervious job. Other then that I havnt mentioned a job. I just said "professional" and "presentable"

One must be both "professional" and "presentable" in really any job.

I am not a betting man but in todays tough job market and with two equal candidates for any job, rather it be flipping burgers at McDonalds or a dental hygienist, the candidate with out the giant ear lobes will get the job far more often then not. You say you have a son, wouldn't you rather give yourself the best opportunity for anything you get into in order to give the best life you can for your son? Even if that means not being able to look "cool?" I have a 3 year old, I know I would, call me a sell out, I will do what ever it takes to take care of my own. And just so you know as you sort of hit on this earlier, youre right, money isnt everything.

However, a stable/reliable income, health benefits, education for your offspring and retirement savings are. People our age cant rely on social security or as many other "social welfare" programs our parents did. We must be independent and have a strong foundation before we get old!

These are gauges : http://www.autometer.com/

I love when the "cool kids" compliment me, "Sweet gauges." Makes me wanna slap them.

Can I get some of these in 1 1/4"? I think it'd be pretty saweet!

Not fatherly advice at all, Im just 24. :)
age is just a number.
just because you're only 24 doesn't mean what you posted on the first page isn't a fatherly/grandfatherly advice.

dude that's a sign of getting old early.
although as i've said, every person lives their life in their own way.
and i can't fault you for having that kind of approach in life.

although i must say this..
i don't want to be like you when i'm reach 24.
and seriously, no offense meant by that.

Even in 2010 MOST people by far do not find this look presentable and professional, just saying. ;)

kid you never give up, do you ? .....like a dog humping a rubber toy...
I don't find people in suits presentable and I'm a professional...but I don't write 20 posts in this thread about it.
go slave in corporate america for ten years and then write back.

I am ridiculous. And they will never close up, no. But they will shrink. I highly doubt that my whole life and my ability to be successful will be solely based on my FREAKIN EARS.

Unless said person has n ear fetish. In that case they are the weirdo. Not me anymore :)

If you really want them to close they can be closed. She wants them cuz she likes them.
