I just might cry knowing that I will never get my dream job on Wall St.![]()
What jobs have I spoke off? Wall St? Did I even mention Wall St?
I just mentioned one sort of specific, my pervious job. Other then that I havnt mentioned a job. I just said "professional" and "presentable"
One must be both "professional" and "presentable" in really any job.
I am not a betting man but in todays tough job market and with two equal candidates for any job, rather it be flipping burgers at McDonalds or a dental hygienist, the candidate with out the giant ear lobes will get the job far more often then not. You say you have a son, wouldn't you rather give yourself the best opportunity for anything you get into in order to give the best life you can for your son? Even if that means not being able to look "cool?" I have a 3 year old, I know I would, call me a sell out, I will do what ever it takes to take care of my own. And just so you know as you sort of hit on this earlier, youre right, money isnt everything.
However, a stable/reliable income, health benefits, education for your offspring and retirement savings are. People our age cant rely on social security or as many other "social welfare" programs our parents did. We must be independent and have a strong foundation before we get old!
