Have you checked out JK47's definitive thread on installing backgrounds? He cuts his backgrounds and puts them together in the tank.

Rigid foam backgrounds can be cut and then reassembled. Universal Rocks uses a polyurea type material with rock material on it, so the backgrounds can bend. Here's Stuart installing a background.
Universal Rocks rocky background is flat with a lot of texture (Albertan has one on the floor of his tank) It actually comes in a roll.
I see problems for a tank builder installing the background, even if you can find a builder to do it for you. For one thing, if you want to plumb the filtration uptakes and returns behind the background, you have to do it yourself.
Chris said they can do it. Since it will have 2 internal overflow im.guessing he can cover them.with the backround ?
