3D backrounds

Have you checked out JK47's definitive thread on installing backgrounds? He cuts his backgrounds and puts them together in the tank.

Rigid foam backgrounds can be cut and then reassembled. Universal Rocks uses a polyurea type material with rock material on it, so the backgrounds can bend. Here's Stuart installing a background.

Universal Rocks rocky background is flat with a lot of texture (Albertan has one on the floor of his tank) It actually comes in a roll.

I see problems for a tank builder installing the background, even if you can find a builder to do it for you. For one thing, if you want to plumb the filtration uptakes and returns behind the background, you have to do it yourself.

Chris said they can do it. Since it will have 2 internal overflow im.guessing he can cover them.with the backround ?

You can get the covers that Pacu mom linked in your last minute thread.

I probably would need the dimensions of the overflow boxes right ?

Checking out both designs by nature amd universal rocks... this isnt gonna be easy to decide

Just called Universal Rocks today ... had questions about the rocky background we are about to install as a floor covering in our tank. They were most helpful with suggestions and said to call anytime if I had more questions. I really appreciate the fact that they are available for guidance.
