I really like that! How much floor space does it eat? Can fish get behind it? Do you have traditional overflows? Are your returns through the bottom? They seem to have excellent pricing!

It actually doesn't eat up much at all. Yeah there's a few spots that are about 5-6" that really give it that rock jutting effect but most of it is only about an inch thick, and they cut out enough room on the right for an eshopps 1000 overflow box and on the left and I have a one inch return over the top of the tank. But they can custom cut out any area you need to hide things, the water flows thru the cracks in the rock, they said it can handle up to 4-5000 gallons an hour. No fish can get behind it (that was the problem in my designs by nature) this one comes in pieces that you silicone to the glass, kind of like a puzzle but mine only came in 7 pieces so it wasn't hard to get it in the tank at all. The only thing I did was staple some netting over the cracks to make sure the fish couldn't slip thru and I haven't had any problems at all.

So you can't install in a tank that is in use?

Yes, I was skeptical because I couldn't find out much about them online so I contacted customer service quite a bit. All their backgrounds come in pieces for ease of shipping and fitting into the tank. They cut the pieces on the thinnest points so I guess in theory you could silicone them together flat and place it into a running tank but I'd guess the seams would split with any pressure.

So the proper way to install it is glue each individual peice the to back of the tank ?

Would they attach to acrylic? If so how would you attach it ?

They told me to silicone it into place. Mine came in 9 pieces for 7x2 feet, pretty painless overall.

Glass, I'm aware that silicone doesn't bond to acrylic, but it seems that it would at least adhere? I mean all things considered it's not like you need that secure of a hold considering there's really no pressure on it, as long as it has the smallest hold you're good.
