I just got 4 one of them is about an inch and a half the other 3 are about an inch. There in a 75 gallon I'm assuming there's 3 boys and a girl only because 3 are a yellowish colour and one is black how long can I keep them in a 75 b4 they try an kill each other?the big one is already nipping at the others but lots of hiding places tho.
Hard to say, they might be fine until 6" or so, or they might kill each other at 3".
What's your goal? Keep them all, or keep your favorite? If you want to keep one, I'd wait until about 3", and keep the dominant male. If you want to keep them all, I'd spring for a 200+ gallon tank within about 5-6 months.

No just for now I also have a 125 and a 90 my roommate has her chichilds in my 125 and I'm expecting her to buy her a tank soon so I can transfer my jags over .So say I do get a pair out of the 4 do I put a divider up the middle or can they live/grow up in the tank without fighting.Or will a m kill a f

125 is a decent size, but in a year or two when the jags are huge, the male might kill the female, 18" wide tank not that great for fish that can reach 16"+. And divided, a 3' section of that tank is not great room for the fish. I would see if they do ok without the divider, but keep it on hand in case he starts to beat her. At the end of the day, 125 is kind of small for an adult pair of jags. Will last a good while at least though.

So I need like a 220 ? How long do jags act sketchy like always hiding don't never come out unless feeding.
hard to say if you "need" a 220, but it would certainly help. I have found in skinny tanks like a 55 or 125, the fish basically only swim from left to right, and run into each other more often, sparking aggression. In wider tanks the fish will face front, swim front back and diagonal as well, so their paths don't cross quite as much, which is better for the subdom (or female) fish.
Your jags will probably stop hiding after they hit adulthood, probably 8"+ or so. Maybe before that. It's all about if they feel comfortable; most of my fish don't hide even from a small size, because I put lots of cover in the tank, especially floating plants, and also have dither fish. So if you make them feel comfortable they will probably stop being "sketchy" sooner

Absolutely right, I find once they hit 7-8 inches they become like the Conor mcgregor of fish, they will even throw a dolly at you through the inside glass panel lmfao I had to. But in all seriousness they are paranoid as baby’s but once they start to grow into themselves they think who they are.

I got some jags from that pet place too! I'm in the same boat. Got two from them, and one local, but I think theyre all female. Was really hoping to get a pair. I've read they can be vented after ~4". Or if characteristics show, spots and pointed fins are generally accepted as male specimens.
