I bought a 12' blue led rope light and found it to be a little too dim for my liking on my 55gal. I was a bit disappointed.

i used 60 LEDS on my 75 and found it to be perfect. however, everybody will have a different opinion! just all depends on how bright you want it.

how many LEDS are in the rope light you bought?

best money i ever spent! and it was only 4 dollars lol

Do moon lights bother the fish? Does it disturb their sleep or anything like that?

I counted 122. :naughty: I'm gonna rig up the lights differently to see if I can get some more light up from them.

Has the water rust out the led's out? I know from putting them out during christmas and with the snow and rain some of them get rusted and burn out. let me know

Just as an FYI for anyone interested in doing this; Target has the Philips 9ft blue led rope lights on clearance for $7.19. If not still available at your local store you can order online. Mine should be here on Monday. I'll post some pics of what it looks like with the rope lights when I get them installed.

What part of the store is this stuff in? Lighting? Home and garden? etc. Couldn't find the rope lights on Target's website, any links?

This thread is going to save me almost $50 :D

I'll have to stop by walmart/target this week and see what I can find.
