It's subjective. Let's just say adequate research is needed when you buy fancy plecos especially as most people don't and give the improper diet. Slime coat itself is a protein source for most plecos. They do that in the wild but this is not always the case in captivity when a pleco is given the correct diet so I do not see why you are telling the OP they aren't great. It takes full research and compliance to their requirements to make the combination possible.

Yeah great idea, his jar is already pushing around the jack dempsy, why not add some even more docile fish that are less able to defend themselves. I'd put money on this jar becoming a single-specimen fish...

well who knows if it would attack a bottom dweller get 1 bigger then jar

I suppose there is only one way to find out, but it would be a sad and expensive mistake. I'd be more inclined to try a common plec thats at least 6" and if the jar leaves that alone then try it with some faster tankmates like silver dollars.
