Ok I am in the process of putting together 4 larger setups!:screwy: I will be using 3 x 55gallon sumps and 1 x 90 gallon sump. This will be ALOT of bio media needed! Now for a budget idea what could I buy for all of these that works good? How many cubic feet do you think I need for each tank? I am on a budget so Icant afford to do scrubbies in all. I have mechanical I just need BIO. Please attach links for deals anything helps thanks guys. This will be for RAY tanks :) :headbang2

Do you have a dollar store by you? if so do they carry scrubbies? i've heard of people call and ordering a box of scrubbies for pretty cheap. I don't think there are going to be anything better than scrubbies for the price.

I used scrubbies in all of my sump setups. Let me see if I can find you a good deal on them.

Thank you...I have a store where I get 6 3 inch ones for $.80 but that still adds up!

Have you tried talking to the manager to see if you order a huge amount you can get a large discount?

my vote is for ceramic media, but it may get expensive for that many sumps! talk to charlie/fish tank factory. he might be able to get you a good deal. and it has tons more surface area than scrubbies, and can be used completely submerged. look into it.

How about both? How much ceramic would I need per sump? Im thinking 100l of matrix and scrubbies!
