I am going to be setting up a 40 gallon breeder soon. I would like to have a breeding pair of something that I could make a few side bucks. Leaning to something that can get a nice KoK. Any suggestions? Thanks for any advise.

Convicts can't go much bigger then that in a 40b If you want a pair.

Salvini, 5 Star General, T Bar Cichlid,...most cichlids breed anywhere from 4 to 7 inchs...you can get whatever you like but it wouldnt be long term

You could do salvanis, cutteri , chetumalesis,rainbow, firemouths dwarf geos. I've kept a pair of Jack dempsey in a 40 but that's no where near ideal of jds.

Cool video you could of kept them longer than a month in there tho...I subscribed also...what happened to ur ebjd fry...ebjds could possibly work in a 40 breeder they dont get as big as regular jacks
