Well did some work over the past week or two. I got it all sealed up with fresh silicone used about 3 tubes of Perfecto Manufacturing silicone to get it water tight. I am water testing it now and have been for the past 2 days. So far so good no leaks and is perfect. I also worked on the frame. Grinded the entire thing to bare metal then sanded it with 180 grit sand paper to get it smooth and sprayed it with a water based black paint then put a urethane clear coat on it. Those rocks in the tank are what I am using for substrate. They are from my River. I decided to go with larger river rock as I am a little tired of sand. Next is the background I am doing a Styrofoam 3D background for it. That blue stuff is just pigmented Epoxy paint. It wont come off so I am just leaving it there and putting the background over it, not like it's going to hurt anything and it's not a big deal. By the way if you didn't know the back and bottom are made of plywood. So far so good! You guys Like???:D

Before and After pics.

Oh lol I couldn't get it level enough thats why the water is low on one side. I didn't want the tank to be too high of the ground on the low side and make it unstable. It is still fine though only off an inch of this were an all glass tank with just silicone then I WOULD BE WORRIED IF IT WERE OFF THAT MUCH!

looks a ton better man at least the stand does all it needs is a new back round

What are its dimensions?

Looks awesome, cant wait to see this thing stocked!

that tank is gonna be awesome. Where'd you get that frame? Looks like an old commercial lobster tank or something.

Got the entire tank for $50 from a guy one town over. Buying a 300 gallon soon for another project. It is an acrylic oval tank and the guy lives just across town from me. He has an RTC that grew it out. so it just sits there.

$50? damn! did he build that himself?

It would kill me to come across a deal like that, being that I live on the second floor of an apartment.

Funny story about him building the tank lol. My friend tommy is a welder and turns out he welded the frame to this tank and the glass came from the people at Cherry Hill glass company which is right across from my dads shop and I am best friends with the owners kids lol. Small world just goes to show you.

Sucks that you live in an apartment. I would hate it lol. This thing weighs more dry than some peoples tanks on MFK full lol.
