i had no doubt you could get wood cheap, its the glass or acrylic that costs the money lol

Yeah to make matters worse there's no local suppliers for glass or acrylic over 1/2" thick. The largest that the local suppliers are willing to ship in is
3/4" thick. WOuld love to get a 1" thick piece that measures 4' x 6'.

Til then I am just working on the frame. Will try to post up some pics of progress soon. This will be a slow going project to say the least!

good scetch

This project turned into a living room tank, that is nearly complete. It's roughly 200 gals, and should be completed within the next month or so. Also still going to make the big tank, but it's painfull trying to get everything needed for it. Attempts to make some cash on the side have not turned out so good, but hopefully I can get up the money needed to kick start it. Money invested in the 200 so far was just $120 for fiberglassing, wood was free so far, but will have to buy some for the stand. Big tank design has changed drastically also. More to come.....

Pictures shown are the viewing area as one piece, and the top two holes cut to fit some glass and routed also. Since the last pics another coat of fiberglass was added and there will be one more coat.

also need to do some overflows for the 200 also, any ideas? Got going so fast on this tank I totally skipped that part in my mind. I am using my old 75 gal as a sump. Going to split it in half with a piece of glass and use half of it as a regular tank and the other half as a sump filter.
