for not being a carpenter, you did pretty well. How perfect did you get the top? Was there any bows in it?

It came out almost perfect, cant say exactly, but i had a small bow - maybe one mm.

OMFG!! I LOVE YOU!!!!!
what's with the cork in the back?
is the foam in the corners the filter???

Not sure what to call the foam, but its actually a very common used filter material. Works great! Not sure of the actual volume, but its around 70-80 litres. I`m going to install an external canister too, like an Fluval FX5 or something - just to be on the safe side.

Its not cork, its coco-panels. Works great in aquariums. Its made for use in terrariums, but i talked to the people who make them, and they should last for many, many years. And they dont affect the water in any way - other than make it a bit brownish.

70-80 liters?!?!? that's only like 20 gallons!
and it's 6' long?!?!? i think you might mean 700-800. (i hope at least)

and what's the coco for?

I might have understand you wrong... the filermedia volume is around 70-80 liters, the watervolume is 990 liters.

Cocos is only for looks. I have covered the entire backwall, looks more natural. And you can grow plants on them. Gonna work on the light later this spring. And there will be an small area covered with lots of plants..

my bad
cool idea with the coco and planting on it. i never thought of that.

had you decided what's going into it?
