So this is not a trickle filter and the balls are submerged. Where is the mechanical filter in all this? Are you relying on high drip to get rid of the waste? Those are messy fish (high waste) you're keeping. Very surprise you can keep the clarity. If it works it works.

water level at around 9” - filter 18” high - bio balls 1/2 submerged-

tray 30”x24” will be filter pad / and sponge / or more pond filter heavy plastic sponge

Is there a point to all those bends and whatnot leading into the sump? Sorry if that's a stupid question but I always see pics of roller coasters of convoluted pipes and tubes and wonder if I'm doing something wrong keeping mine so simple.

You need to ensure that any horizontal pipe has a 1/8-1/4in drop per foot to ensure proper flow.

looks like i’ll be starting install this weekend, builder was supposed to do it - it’ll be april if i wait for him -

any words of wisdom appreciated-

plan to dry fit sumps plumbing then glue abs first -

2nd tank not done until wednesday (17 weeks ?)

gotta drill my own bulkheads in sump - plan 1 3/4” hole saw with pilot bit over blue taped off site - have 1” slip bulk heads
